Description

The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W microcomputer is the next generation of the Raspberry Pi Zero W in the same form factor, but the difference is that the board has a quad-core 64-bit Arm Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1 GHz. It is based on the Raspberry Pi RP3A0 system-in-case (SiP), which integrates a Broadcom BCM2710A1 matrix with 512MB of LPDDR2 SDRAM. The upgraded processor gives the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W 40% more single-threaded performance and five times more multi-threaded performance than the original single-core Raspberry Pi Zero.
The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W is ideal for use in smart home applications and other Internet of Things (IoT) projects. With its diminutive size but impressive performance in its class, it can be used in a variety of projects, ranging from CCTV cameras to Bluetooth speakers.
The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W offers 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN at 2.4GHz and Bluetooth 4.2, as well as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) support and modular compliance certification.
The board has a microSD card slot, a CSI-2 camera connector, a USB On-The-Go (OTG) port, and an unsoldered 40-pin GPIO connector. The microcomputer is powered by a micro USB connector. Video output is via the mini HDMI port. If required, the composite video output can be easily made available via control points.
Featuring the same form factor as the original Raspberry Pi Zero, the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W is found in most existing Raspberry Pi Zero cases.
